River Front Development Group (RFDG) is a North Carolina, IRS Section 501 (c) (3) Tax-Exempt Nonprofit Community Development Corporation (CDC). Our Mission is to work with low to moderate-income neighborhoods and residents of Asheville and Buncombe County to combat the deterioration and gentrification of economically disadvantaged residents adversely impacted by past Urban Renewal and Redevelopment Programs. In operation since 1996, we are involved in the development of affordable housing, the provision of nonprofit business services, and the Preservation of African American Cultural Heritage Assets, Economic Development and Educational Opportunities through our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics (STEAM) Academy.
