Warrior Wednesday. The stories from our first ever Great Pup Adventure Warrior Walk were too awesome not to share. Sometimes our paths connect with others in the most unexpected ways. When Karli Cook reached out to us to share the story of her late husband and well known tattoo artist, Richard, I knew this was something so very special. As we talked and I learned more about the incredible man that he was and the legacy that he has left behind, we were absolutely humbled to be the recipient of this donation in his honor. This broken journey has lead us down some of the most incredibly hard roads while joining us with some very special communities. With some amazing people. This is one of them. What an absolute honor to be selected for this selfless gift. What a honor to be able to go to the Hell City Tattoo festival to meet Durb Morrison and be able to share our story and heart behind our mission with those there. Jesus has a way of opening doors to shine a light on ways we may never expect. Through that opportunity, a person sitting in the crowd was able to hear our story. This sweet soul has been faced with unimaginable battles. She was sitting there in the midst of her own broken pain. Her friend sitting beside her watched as her faced lit up while I was speaking. She went to our website, shared her friend’s journey, and nominated her for a Battle Pup of her own. As we read her story, tears filled our eyes. We included a book with her Battle Pup and will continue to pray that God will reach her where she is and that she will feel his love, presence, and strength to endure all that she faces ahead. We are so humbled to be the vessel that connects so many beautiful communities together. Life is hard. But together we can make sure no one battles alone. One army. Uniting warriors. What an absolute privilege. One that we will never take for granted. Thank you for every single person who continues to fund this mission so we can continue to show up for those who need us.
