DamSense – Breach the Lower Snake River Dams to save salmon, orcas, & money

Dam Sense advocates for sensible, fact-based use of the Lower Snake River (LSR) that balances human development with nature. To this end, Dam Sense seeks to 1. Cultivate a deep understanding among citizens & decision makers of the economic, cultural, & ecological harm caused by the 4 LSR hydropower dams; 2. Conduct technical & scientific analyses to determine if the 4 LSR Dams are delivering their intended benefits &, if not, what benefits a restored, free-flowing river would offer. As our nation faces competing public engineering priorities, fiscal pressures, & the challenge of protecting cornerstone species amid the threats from climate change, human-driven habitat destruction, etc. our research & educational outreach are essential for making informed, sustainable decisions.
