The International Center for Food Ontology Operability Data and Semantics (IC-FOODS) is a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit organization based in Davis, California USA. As part of its mission to democratize food systems, IC-FOODS brings the brightest minds in semantic web, AI/ML, ontological and mathematical modeling from around the world together with domain experts whose work reside along the Environment⇔Ag⇔Food Processing⇔Diet⇔Health knowledge spectrum. With partners, we design and build the ontological and computational cyberinfrastructure and standards enabling a semantic web of food, health, and sustainability aka the INTERNET OF FOOD (IoF).

OBJECTIVES The objectives of the ecosystem standards are to advance the burgeoning fields of Food Systems Food and Health Informatics. We envision enabling the interconnection of platforms and IT ecosystems with open and proprietary technologies capable of supporting decisionmaking and automation as well as appropriate levels of traceability and transparency.
