New Neighbor Project
We provide low cost ESL classes, Citizenship classes, immigration assistance and scholarships. The New Neighbor Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides support to our immigrant neighbors through donation-based ESL, citizenship, and HISET/GED classes, as well as citizenship application assistance and scholarship opportunities to help provide a holistic pathway to citizenship for people in our community. Since 2021 we have served over 1500 refugees and immigrants from ages 16-82 from more than 15 zip codes, four parishes in the greater New Orleans area, across the US, and Internationally. We provide ESL classes, Citizenship classes, and Hiset prep classes with the assistance of 45 volunteers from the community and Tulane and Loyola Universities.
