Founded in 1985 to preserve and protect the quality and quantity of the San Marcos River. Preserving and protecting the natural beauty, flow and purity of the San Marcos River by monitoring water quality. removing invasive species and restoring habitat to protect the river's endangered species, and advocating for green spaces and land conservation in critical areas of the watershed to protect the natural springs and the flow of the river for generations to come.

The San Marcos River Foundation Preserving Protecting the San Marcos River The San Marcos River is considered one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems known in the southwestern United States and great care must be taken to ensure it remains clean clear and flowing. We focus on protecting the flow from aquiferfed springs improving the water quality and preserving the areas beauty with parks and regular cleanups. Heres how you can help Volunteer Volunteer with community scientists to collect monthly scientific data and observations along the San Marcos and Blanco rivers. Donate Through your donations become a member and help us continue our efforts to protect and preserve the river and the natural areas around it.
