Chinese for Affirmative Action

Follow Message Edit

Asian Americans for Civil Rights and Equality is a progressive network of individuals and organizations committed to social justice. Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) was founded in 1969 to protect the civil and political rights of Chinese Americans and to advance multiracial democracy in the United States. Today, CAA is a progressive voice in and on behalf of the broader Asian and Pacific American community. In 2013, CAA founded Asian Americans for Civil Rights & Equality (AACRE) to address the rapidly changing landscape of Asian American activism in the Bay Area. Already serving as a fiscal sponsor for pivotal groups such as the Alliance of South Asians Taking Action (ASATA), Asian Prisoner Support Committee (APSC), Lavender Phoenix (LavNix), Hmong Innovating Politics (HIP), and Stop AAPI Hate (SAH), CAA built these efforts into a dynamic network.
