THE WORKSHOPS EXPLORE THE COMMON ROOTS OF U.S. JAZZ AND CUBAN MUSIC AND INVOLVED U.S. MUSICIANS, CUBAN MUSIC STUDENTS AND OTHER PARTICIPATING MEMBERS OF THE CUBAN PUBLIC DISCUSSING THE ORIGINS AND DEVELOPMENT OF U.S. JAZZ AND CUBAN MUSIC; AND LEARNING ABOUT THEIR DIFFERENT STYLES OF MUSIC BY PLAYING TOGETHER. THE CLINICS INVOLVED U.S. LUTHIERS AND BRASS AND WOODWIND REPAIR TECHNICIANS BOTH REPAIRING, AND TRAINING CUBAN MUSIC STUDENTS AND PARTICIPATING MEMBERS OF THE CUBAN PUBLIC ON HOW TO REPAIR WORN AND BROKEN INSTRUMENTS.
