No child should die from Isolated Congenital Asplenia 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation #team4travis #aspleniaresearch ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Together Ending Asplenia Mortality a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation T.E.A.M. 4 Travis was born from the sincere desire to prevent families from losing a child to the rare genetic birth defect Isolated Congenital Asplenia (ICA). ICA is a Primary Immunodeficiency as children are born without a functioning spleen, leaving their immune systems compromised. Our mission includes fundraising to support medical research about ICA, providing increased community awareness and medical education about the disease and contributing to the development of genetic testing or Newborn Screening that will identify children with ICA. We do this in the hope our efforts will help stop ICA from being recognized only after it is listed as the cause of death on a child’s death certificate.
