MAP Medieval Association of the Pacific Welcome to the website for MAP the Medieval Association of the Pacific. We arean organization of university faculty students and independent scholars from around the Pacific Rim including North America Japan Australia and New Zealand. Founded in 1966 MAP has a distinguished history of supporting interdisciplinary medieval studies. MAP hosts an annual conference that is open to scholars working on any aspect of the global medieval world one need not live in MAPs general target area to participate.

JOIN or RENEW now. Membership in the Medieval Association of the Pacific is open to all individuals with an interest in the promotion of medieval studies in Western North America and the Pacific Rim. In addition to becoming part of an active international scholarly community dedicated to the study of the global medieval world, members are eligible to participate in MAP's annual conference and have the opportunity to help shape the future of medieval studies through service in the organization.

The California State University, Long Beach Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies invites submissions for our biennial conference, Afterlives: Reinvention, Reproduction, and Reception, in collaboration with Forest Lawn Museum. The conference will be held November 15, 2025 at Forest Lawn Museum and will include lunch, a reception, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Museum and its holdings. It is a fantastic day of scholarly exchange in a unique and quintessentially Los Angeles setting.
