Building more equitable, more regenerative foodsheds. The mission of Foodshed Capital is to provide financial stewardship for small and mid-size farms and businesses promoting a local regenerative food economy. We do this through various forms of flexible, low-cost financing, including a 0% revolving loan fund called SOIL. Foodshed Capital was certified as a Community Development Financial Institution in 2020. Our financing provides equitable, patient, and risk-tolerant capital for farmers and food entrepreneurs who have difficulty obtaining traditional capital, especially women, people of color, low-income individuals, and new/beginning farmers. We partner with farms dedicated to using resilient, eco-friendly practices that foster soil health and biodiversity and produce healthy, nutritious food for our local communities.
