I walked into my first Labeled and Loved event just one week after my son was diagnosed with a lifelong disability. From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by women who got my hard—who truly understood what I was going through. They didn’t just offer comfort; they helped me begin to navigate the complex and emotional journey of being a special needs mom. That moment changed my life. The community I found at that event quickly became my circle. These women have shown me unwavering love, support, and encouragement. They’ve given me a place to be seen, heard, and authentically loved. When I didn’t know where to turn or what resources were available for my son, they helped me find the way. Saying “yes” to becoming a Sisterhood Circle Leader for Labeled and Loved was one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made. Serving other special needs moms and walking with them through their hard is, as my own mother would say, what I was born to do. Being the mom of a special needs child is one of the hardest and most sacred journeys a woman can walk—and it is not meant to be walked alone. We all need a circle. We all need a sisterhood. Labeled and Loved gave me that, and it’s one of the greatest honors of my life to now help others find theirs. This week, I was invited to share my story with our local TV station, KOAA. I talked about my journey as a special needs mom and the incredible impact Labeled and Loved has had on my life. If you are a special needs mom, you are an amazing, fierce warrior.
