Pt Arkansas

Pt Arkansas is a nonprofit chapter of Project Transformation, a national organization focused on community development, leadership training, and youth service. It was launched in 2021, led by an alumna of the North Texas chapter.

Founding and Mission

Pt Arkansas was established to extend Project Transformation's mission to Arkansas. The organization's overarching goal is to transform communities by engaging children, college-age young adults, and churches in purposeful relationships. This mission is achieved through two primary services: leadership development and ministry exploration opportunities for young adults, and community-oriented after-school and summer programs for children and youth.

Programs and Impact

Pt Arkansas operates summer programs at two host churches, primarily serving underserved children in Pine Bluff, AR. The programs are designed to enhance literacy and social-emotional learning through activities such as one-on-one reading sessions with volunteers. As of its inception, Pt Arkansas has engaged 16 young adults in ministry-exploration internships, serving over 80 children. The chapter operates as part of a larger network of Project Transformation chapters across the United States, which collectively engage hundreds of young adults annually and serve thousands of children.

Like other Project Transformation chapters, Pt Arkansas is affiliated with the national organization but operates independently, governed by its own board of directors. It partners with local United Methodist churches and conferences to build relationships with community partners and recruit volunteers.
