Happy #FeelGoodFriday! In recent news, MacHabitat has completed the 11th project through our 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 - replacing a deck and front steps for Mary, a retired local homeowner. Mary's testimony is a reminder of why we do what we do. "My back porch and walkway were so rotted, that it was a matter of time before the wood gave way, and I could have been seriously injured! Brent and David replaced the entirety with beautiful wood and used leftover lumber to replace my front steps. 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. I'm no longer embarrassed to have people over, and we all feel safe! My backyard is now a source of pride and beauty. David, Brent and Habitat have been a godsend for me. McMinnville Area Habitat for Humanity teamed up with Embold Credit Union and Unidos Bridging Community to host a "How to Buy A Home" financial education class presented in Spanish. Together, we were able to provide participants with #MacHabitat swag, community resources, and a toolkit to help them get started down the path to homeownership. 📝🏡 We so appreciate Mauricio from Embold for teaching the course, and Jose from Unidos for helping with community outreach. As MacHabitat prepares to open applications for our Home Program in the coming months, outreach to all communities, especially the underserved, is critical.
