Torch Literary Arts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit established to support Black women writers. To promote the work of Black women by publishing contemporary creative writing by experienced and emerging writers alike, to archive contributors' literary work for posterity and educational purposes, and provide resources and opportunities for the advancement of Black women through literary arts.

Celebrate National Day on Writing today with Torch Literary Arts. National Day on Writing is celebrated on October 20th each year to recognize the importance and variety of writing in our lives. Established by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), the day encourages people to write in different forms, from sending a handwritten letter to participating in a shared writing exercise online.
