Sonoran University Sage Foundation | Giving Back | Community Clinics in AZ Sage Foundation for Health Your Support Changes Lives Sonoran Universitys Sage Foundation for Health provides funding to community clinics throughout Maricopa County which are staffed with licensed faculty physicians and third and fourthyear medical students from Sonoran University of Health Sciences College of Naturopathic Medicine. Patients include families in lowincome school districts survivors of domestic violence patients recovering from homelessness and trauma individuals seeking LGBTQ care and patients recovering from substance use. Clinical training students treat chronic and acute health conditions by working with the patients to restore health and improve selfcare choices through daily diet exercise and stress reduction treatment plans. These shifts give students a unique opportunity to provide treatment and gain skills and experience in a community healthcare setting and enhance their cultural competence working with a diverse patient population.
