American Black Beauty Doll Association (ABBDA) is the oldest Black Doll organization in the USA. Our goal is to establish a better understanding and appreciation of the importance dolls of color. https://linktr.ee/ABBDA_weloveblackdolls Founded in 1984 by Karen Oyekanmi in Oakland CA., American Black Beauty Doll Association Inc.(ABBDA), is the oldest Black Doll Organization in the country. ABBDA's mission is to build a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of dolls of color for play, collecting and positive learning tools for children and adults. ABBDA has partnered with schools, libraries and community centers in historically underserved communities to teach doll making workshops and provide educational materials on the importance of dolls of color and diversity . These partnerships have created a more inclusive environment for all participants which raises self esteem and promotes a positive self-image among people of color.
