One week from today—June 7—is National Trails Day, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by breaking ground on LC Nature Park’s brand-new Discovery Trail! This self-guided trail will be fully accessible, offering people of all abilities the chance to explore the quiet beauty of our prairie and pond landscapes. And you can be part of building it! Join us on Saturday, June 7 (also National Prairie Day—how perfect is that?) to kick things off. Bring a shovel, wear sturdy boots, and lend a hand! Anyone who volunteers for just one hour will get free park entry passes to use on a future Open Park Day visit. No need to sign up ahead of time, just show up ready to dig in (with a sturdy shovel and boots)! We can’t wait to start this adventure with you. See you next weekend! 🌿 (fb)

Welcome to LC Nature Park Native Indiana Prairies and Woodlands Wild Bison and Elk Herds Guided Hikes Unique Programs Schedule a visit today. Explore more than 200 acres of native Indiana landscape at LC Nature Park where herds of bison and elk graze the restored grasslands wildflowers burst into bloom and children experience the magic of nature. LC Nature Park features a hiking trail an ancient sand dune and a fully renovated centuryold barn for hosting educational programs and events. Located in the historic Little River Valley LC Nature Park was once the reserve of Chief Akima Neewilenkwanka of the Myaamia Miami Nation.
