Pastor Andrew Brunson exposes the truth about Christianity in the United States. The church is soft in the US. Our culture has become hostile to the claims of Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation. Christianity demands obedience to a number of areas that are very contested in our culture: gender identity, sexual morality, life and family. Any believer, now, is swimming against a strong current. People are giving into the pressure. The pressure is only going to increase. Pastor Andrew Brunson lived in Turkey for 23 years, where he was a pastor for the Izmir Diriliş Church. In 2016, Pastor Brunson filed an application to renew his residence visa and in October 2016 was taken into custody by the police. Police told him he would be deported within 15 days. He was denied access to a lawyer. He was denied food, water, and clothing. He was denied contact with other prisoners and was held in Harmandali Detention Center. Pastor Brunson was charged with “membership in an armed terrorist organization” in December of 2016. In August 2017, Pastor Brunson was charged with political or military espionage. The first hearing for Pastor Brunson was in April 2018. 18 months in prison. After several hearings, Pastor Brunson was convicted on the charge of aiding in terrorism. He was released and returned to the United States following his final hearing which took place in October 2018. His crime? Being a follower of Jesus. (fb)
