Oregon Rocketry

Oregon Rocketry is an Oregon state non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting model, high-power, and amateur rocketry. The organization aims to foster a safe and family-friendly environment for enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds across the Pacific Northwest.

Affiliations

Oregon Rocketry is affiliated with the Tripoli Rocketry Association and the National Association of Rocketry (NAR), ensuring adherence to strict safety codes and compliance with federal and local regulations.

Activities

The organization hosts regular launches that are open to the public. These events provide opportunities for both members and non-members to engage in rocketry activities. Spectators are welcomed free of charge, while participants pay a small fee. Oregon Rocketry also offers annual membership options for individuals and families.

Launch Sites

• Sheridan: Located about 45 miles southwest of Portland, Oregon, this site features a sprawling grass field and an FAA waiver allowing flights up to 5,400 feet above ground level (AGL).
• Brothers: Situated 41 miles east of Bend on Highway 20, this site offers a higher FAA waiver of 20,500 feet AGL.
