How we work SHCLA is a community land trust that acquires homes in Alameda County and master leases them to adult residential facility operators SHCLAalso acquires homes in Alameda County and creates collectively owned cooperativescondos for parents of adult children with mental health challenges both of our models serve residents with serious mental health illnesses. Land is owned by the community.
