Official non-profit of the Los Padres Forest. We do what we can to help the forest and disperse useful information for people to use on their adventures. Collaborating with the Los Padres Forest to provide volunteer trail maintenance support, community outreach projects and outdoor recreation opportunities. Founded in 1979, the LPFA is an official non-profit 501(c)(3) partner of the Los Padres National Forest. Our mission is to care for the Los Padres Forest, ensuring it thrives and remains safe and open for the people to use and enjoy.

Do you remember the tiny post office located in Wheeler Springs on your drive up Highway 33 to your favorite Los Padres location. That post office manned by Wheeler Springs local Webb Wilcox held the record for Smallest Post Office in the United States from the mid1930s until Wilcoxs death in 1962. Though no longer an official Post Office it remained present forvisitors to view on their drives up Highway 33 for another 55 years until it was burned in the 2017 Thomas Fire.

LPFA x NATIONAL TRAILS DAY National Trails Day is June 7th this year, and LPFA is spending it on the Piedra Blanca Trail to celebrate.
