East Calais Community Trust Success. A nearly fouryear project to renovate and rejuvenate the General Store of East Calais and three affordable apartments is complete. Vermonts rural development requires thriving village centers and those depend on thriving village stores. The East Calais Community Trust ECCT is a nonprofit organization created in 2019 by community members whose mission is to support local community development sustainable economic growth and historic preservation.
