For years, our NICU has embraced the power of skin-to-skin contact—and this year, we’re thrilled to bring this meaningful practice to the CTICU. 💙 Also known as kangaroo care, skin-to-skin contact involves gently holding a baby against a parent or caregiver’s bare chest. This act helps regulate vital signs & strengthens the bond between the baby & caregiver. While often used with premature or low-birth-weight infants, kangaroo care has benefits for all babies—including those with congenital heart disease.
