Giving a visual voice to incarcerated artists in Minnesota through engaging, community-centered exhibitions of their art. Art From The Inside Minnesota gives a visual voice to incarcerated artists—empowering them on a path Art From the Inside takes a multi-faceted approach to giving a voice to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated artists. Art from the Inside creates the opportunity for incarcerated artists to have a visual voice through engaging community-centered exhibitions of their art. We host exhibits at a range of venues with the goal of making art accessible to anyone. We incorporate community discussions and educational opportunities at each exhibit. We speak to undergraduate and graduate students about the importance of leadership and change. We hope to provide economic empowerment for the artists we work with through the sale of original art and prints. We are committed to taking a community centered approach that includes education advocacy successful transition back into the community as part of our scope.

Shifting Perspectives March 2 April 27 Cargill Gallery Minneapolis Central Library Join Art from the Inside for Shifting Perspectives an exciting showcase of art and events through the month of April at the Minneapolis Central Library. Hosted in Minneapolis Central Librarys Cargill Gallery this exhibit is a unique opportunity to view thoughtprovoking pieces from talented artists currently serving time in Minnesota as well as incredible works from our returning neighbors. This work is funded in part by MHC with money from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund that was created with the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4 2008.
