The Houston Golf Association exists to make a difference in the Houston Community, and its youth, through golf and charity. Since 1946, Houston Golf Association has been making a difference for Houston communities and their youth through the game of golf. HGA is the umbrella organization of First Tee – Greater Houston's (FTGH), although both organizations have a unique 501c3. FTGH's mission and purpose is to impact the lives of young people in the Greater Houston area by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. Founded in 2004, FTGH is affiliated with the national First Tee program that began in 1997. FTGH serves over 300,000 youth annually, and is open to students of all ages, abilities, gender, ethnicities, and income.
