THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF THIS CORPORATION IS TO (I) PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA THAT ARE IN NEED OF EMERGENCY OR TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE; (II) PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE CANDIDATES FOR A DEGREE AT AN "EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION" (AS SUCH TERM IS DEFINED IN THE CODE AND THE TREASURY REGULATIONS PROMULGATED THEREUNDER); (III) PROMOTE THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF RESIDENTS OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA; AND (IV) CARRY ON OTHER CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THESE GOALS AS ALLOWED BY LAW.
