We are aware of the recent antisemitic article written by a member of the Tulane community that defends Ye’s (Kanye West’s) antisemitic and hateful beliefs toward Jews. Tulane Hillel condemns all forms of antisemitism, racism, discrimination, inequity, and hate speech in any manner. We are incredibly grateful to Tulane University and our campus partners for their commitment to inclusivity and equity by standing up against hateful and antisemitic language in all forms. Tulane Hillel will be holding a support circle on antisemitism on Wednesday, January 18th from 4-5pm here at 912 Broadway St. In the meantime, please know that if you are feeling upset, anxious, or any sort of way about this situation, we are here to support you and to be a safe space. We’re ready with open ears and open arms. Please feel free to reach out to Assistant Director Gary Brandt at gbrandt1@tulane.edu. https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Addressing-antisemitism-and-supporting-Jewish-students.html?soid=1100387766080&aid=HzfxxELV6bA (fb)

Congratulations to Tulane Hillel Executive Director Ron Gubitz, who was recently selected as one of 15 Jewish professionals for Class 6 of the Wexner Field Fellowship, The Wexner Foundation’s leadership development program created in partnership with the Jim Joseph Foundation. The Wexner Field Fellowship is a three-year intensive professional development program. Together with a diverse cohort of Jewish professionals from across North America, Ron will grow as a Jewish professional, deepen his leadership skills, and develop a rich community of colleagues, becoming part of The Wexner Foundation’s network of professional and volunteer leaders in North America and Israel. The complete list of Class 6 Fellows is available here: https://bit.ly/Class6WFF (fb)
