Humanitarian artist Brian Maguire carries the stories of families impacted by the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP) crisis with profound care. Through intimate, respectful collaboration, Maguire paints portraits from treasured photographs. Since 2020, Maguire has returned to Missoula to work with MMIP families, listening to their stories and honoring their loved ones in paint. One portrait is given as a gift to the family. The other becomes part of this exhibition. Join us in witnessing this powerful body of work—and in affirming that art can be an act of justice.
