Community Rehabilitation Center provides outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatments to the underserved Jacksonville Northside Community. Making Lives Whole Being human means bearing burdens. But the burdens placed on some of us exceed the strength of any of us. Those living with the biological disorders of mental illness, substance abuse or HIV/AIDS are asked to carry among the heaviest of burdens. And it is our responsibility to give them the help and the strength they need to face each new day. The Community Rehabilitation Center (CRC) and its staff of more than fifty compassionate professionals offer hope where once only hopelessness was found. On any given day, 3,000 homeless people are on the streets of our city. Over 65% of them have a chronic mental illness. Many also suffer from substance abuse or HIV/AIDS. Our comprehensive range of services seeks to help these Consumers join the mainstream of society to the fullest extent possible. Many of these individuals are taken into the criminal-justice system for offenses as minor as trespassing. In reality, they belong in a program like ours. A program that costs society just one-third the amount of the criminal-justice system. A program that offers treatment and understanding, dedicated to the goal of making lives whole.
