I Would Rather Be Reading is a non-profit whose mission is to help students who have experienced tra Our mission is to provide children and families with backgrounds of trauma equitable access to literacy education and advocacy opportunities. We provide after-school and summer programming for students K-5, geared toward increasing their literacy proficiency in a safe, trauma-sensitive environment. We host monthly training for families to ensure that they can provide their students with research-based, foundation literacy activities at home that will create home and school synergy. Each school year, we provide training to educators that expands their trauma-informed, literacy teaching practice to ensure that students across Louisville are getting what they need inside their classrooms.
