Temporary Protective Status (TPS) is an immigration status granted to people from specific countries that are experiencing natural disaster, armed conflict, or other extraordinary events. This week, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to allow the termination of Temporary Protective Status for 350,000 Venezuelans living and working in the United States. Why does TPS matter? In addition, our team in Colombia works extensively with Venezuelan refugees. This week, it was Venezuelans who lost their protected status, but there are reports that other countries may also lose theirs.
