With heavy hearts, we join the Hmong community and the nation in mourning the tragic loss of our Hmong community member, Shuefaub “Shue” Xiong, who died by suicide. It is a stark reminder of how silent and overwhelming mental health crisis battles can be. At Project Tshav Ntuj, we understand how difficult it is to face these struggles, both for the individuals experiencing them and for the loved ones who care so deeply. We extend our deepest condolences to Shue’s family and loved ones as they grieve during this time. In the days since this tragedy, we have witnessed an outpouring of reflections from individuals sharing their own struggles with mental health. These courageous voices underscore a truth we cannot ignore: mental health challenges touch us all.
