We want to thank our wonderful golf outing committee for the beautiful gift they had handcrafted for us by Dina Ciprich Fusare . Some days in rescue can be harder than others and we try not to dwell on those days. Our focus has always been about the animals, after all we chose this life. We knew we would be spending long hours, sometimes through the night, caring for the animals. We knew there would be days, even weeks, that we would not have any help and most weeks we wouldn't get a day off. We knew it would be a thankless "job" (one we don't get paid for). We also knew that we would meet amazing people that feel the same as we do, people that give up their day off to come muck stalls, clean cages, scrub water troughs and of course love on the animals. We are not looking for praise, and if you follow our page, that should be evident. But, every so often it is nice to know that others can see that we have dedicated our lives to the animals. Thank you @Bea Sampedro, @Lisa Kleeberg, @Bobbi Gillingham Walsh, Susan Morello Washer @Monica Guidotti for the thoughtful gift and for helping us be the voice of the animals. Our sweet and sassy girl, Powder, crossed over the rainbow bridge this moring. She was almost 20 years old when she passed and blessed us with an extra six months that we didn't expect after her cancer diagnoses. It happened very quickly this morning and she passed with her head in Lisa's lap. When an animal is part of your life for nearly 18 years you forget that they won't live forever. This is definitely the hardest part of rescue! Bounce high sweet girl you are already missed by so many! (fb)
