• To design, develop, construct and operate an open-air museum representing an Eastern European market town of the late 19th century; to be established near to, and to be complementary to, the existing Open-Air Museum of Lithuania at Rumsiskes; and to include depiction of both the Jewish and Christian communities of Eastern European market towns. • To accurately depict the cooperative and fraught co-existence of the Christian and Jewish communities and cultures that made up the population of pre-World-War-I Eastern European market towns. • To establish a research and learning entity for study of co-existence of diverse cultural and religious groups.
