Program Director Shyquon Thompson was awarded the Above and Beyond award for his and his team's work with youth during a statewide Connecticut Providers meeting in April. The YAP New Haven youth justice program serves participants ages 13-17 and provides them with a neighborhood-based Advocate/Credible Messenger who supports them and their families. YAP is a national nonprofit it 33 states and Washington, DC. that partners with youth justice, child welfare, behavioral health, education, public safety, and other systems to deliver community-based alternatives to youth incarceration, residential care, and neighborhood violence.
