Downriver Foster Closet
Our organization provides clothing, underclothing, toys, shoes, baby equipment, and gear and in some cases furniture to children placed in the foster care system for any area! These items are new or gently used items that have been donated to us. The Downriver Foster closet is a local 501c3 non-profit organization that has been helping Downriver Foster Families since 2020. Our mission is to help foster kids rebuild their self-esteem and adapt to there new home. As foster parents we understand the urgency and importance to prepare for the little ones with little to no time. We started this non-profit to help relieve some pressure that most of us foster parents feel prior to getting placement. Through generous donations from businesses and individuals it’s our goal is to come together as a community and help assist and support the foster care system in any way we can. We feel its important that everyone feels supported in the foster care system.
