MISSION: To foster human and community development through community-based arts. The mission of San Anto Cultural Arts, Inc. is to foster human and community development through community-based arts. San Anto currently operates two core programs: El Placazo Community Newspaper & Mentor Program and the Community Mural & Public Art Program. Each program helps participants gain the self-efficacy to overcome the barriers associated with poverty.The programs document and preserve the rich history and heritage of this predominantly Hispanic and historically ignored and underdeveloped community. San Anto's programming places the process above the product, focusing on development of youth character, cognitive and social skills through the production of community art.
