General Daniel Chappie James Jr Memorial Foundation Inc
We are a non profit organization with grassroots community effort to get the Pensacola Bay Bridge replacement named after local hero General "Chappie" James. The General Daniel "Chappie" James, Jr. Memorial Foundation is now in the process of having an open air museum memorial for General James, designed and installed at the base of the bridge. A place where all can learn about our native national hero. To have the new Pensacola Bay Bridge named in honor of General Daniel "Chappie" James, Jr. (accomplished). To erect a memorial plaza in honor of General James at the bridge landing to properly recognize the accomplishments of this national hero of three wars, and as the first African American to achieve 4-star rank in the US military. General James was a native of Pensacola, Florida.

Chappie James Memorial – Thou Shalt Not Quit! With your help the Memorial Foundation will build an Open Air Museum at the north end of the General Daniel Chappie James Jr. Bridge. It will house a largerthanlife statue of the General and an F4 Phantom and will honor his leadership patriotism and eternal optimism. In June 2020 Florida Governor DeSantis signed into law the bill that names the new Pensacola Bay Bridge the General Daniel Chappie James Jr.
