It is also a directory of nearly 11,000 animal shelters and adoption organizations across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Organizations maintain their own home pages and pet data. Rescue, rehab and rehome unwanted dogs. Assist when possible with unwanted cats. Assist when possible on neglected or abused animals beyond just dogs and cats. Educate county residents about animal issues and encourage good caretaking of personal pets.
