Today is World Bee Day, and yeah, it sounds cute—but it’s actually a big deal. Bees are out here working overtime to keep your fruit bowls full, your almond milk flowing, and your avocado toast from becoming... just toast. We’re talking one out of every three bites of food made possible by bees. 🇺🇸 In the United States alone, honey bees are responsible for adding more than $15 billion each year to crop values. That includes: 🥜 Almonds (100% dependent on bees) 🍓 Berries 🍉 Melons 🍎 Apples 🍑 Peaches 🌻 Sunflowers ☕ Coffee 🥦 Veggies like squash and cucumbers So, without bees, not only would your diet be boring—your grocery bill would be brutal. They're like tiny, flying economic engines. Eating fruit just tastes better when there’s some meaning behind it. Like you’re not just biting into something sweet—you’re part of a little ecosystem that actually works. Take our trip to Kinfolk Restaurant the other day. We sat down to their Griddle Cakes—rosemary-maple syrup, pecan pie butter, and these strawberries that honestly deserve their own fan club. Fresh from local Jones Orchard. Handpicked. And here’s the kicker—they were pollinated by our bees. See, we’ve got hives out at Jones Orchard. It’s a partnership that just makes sense. The orchard needs bees to make fruit happen, and our bees need the orchard to keep doing what they do best. And then, Kinfolk? They get to enjoy the fruits—literally—of all that labor. Also, this isn’t just poetic. It’s science. A single strawberry can require up to 21 visits from honey bees just to grow right. That’s 21 tiny commutes per berry. These girls are clocking in and doing the job so your breakfast can taste like summer. So yeah—when you support local, it actually tastes better. You can feel it. You can taste it.
