FRIENDS OF THE GIRL CHILD NETWORK
We connect more than 300 organizations across East Africa who are dedicated to Children Rights Friends of the Girl Child Network exists to empower girls in Kenya to lead and learn. We support local, evidence-based interventions that address the root causes of girls not accessing quality education. Our partners do much of their work at the community level, empowering change agents to make their own communities places where girls and boys have opportunities to succeed. But some girls need even more support. That's where Friends of the Girl Child Network comes in. Our sponsorship program bridges the gap to quality education for exceptionally vulnerable girls, primarily in Kenya's ASAL (arid and semi-arid land) regions.

For years many girls have gone to primary school and now secondary schools colleges and universities are admitting and graduating girls at record rates. However girls with disabilities are still often excluded from the public education system. Gaps in medical educational and social referral systems can get in the way of girls attending school.
