The mission of The Parrot Fund:  Amigos de las Aves USA is to promote the conservation of wild psittacines (macaws and parrots) and their environment in the Neotropics and throughout the world. We have a particular interest in developing techniques for successful reintroduction and translocation of parrot species into the wild and the conservation education programs that are necessary to make these programs work. We encourage owners of pet parrots to become familiar with the lifestyles of the wild relatives of their pets and to support efforts to conserve them and their environments.
