Whether their sentences are based on outdated policies or the person has been rehabilitated, continued confinement is not in the interest of justice. Prosecutors are one of the most powerful actors in our justice system. Now, they have the power to determine whether someone can be safely released from prisonprioritizing public safety, victims, and rehabilitation. They can make changes. They can reunite families. They can do this For The People.
