It was founded in 1988 at the University of Texas at Austin by Patricia Adams Hogan, Robin Maedgen, Gina Williams Goveas, Jacqueline Goveas, and Eileen Howell Barlow.
History and Purpose
Sigma Phi Lambda is part of a broader movement to establish Christian Greek organizations during the mid-1980s. It was established in response to the growth of the Evangelical Christian movement in the U.S. and provides a community focused on spiritual development and sisterhood.
