THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO ENGAGE KEY DECISION MAKERS AND THE PUBLIC AT LARGE TO ADDRESS CRITICAL ISSUES FACING THESE INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING ISSUES RELATED TO POLICING, PROSECUTION, LEGAL REPRESENTATION, SENTENCING, INCARCERATION, DEPORTATION, AND POST-INCARCERATION LIFE. THE ORGANIZATION'S ACTIVITIES ARE PRIMARILY FOCUSED AROUND ISSUE ADVOCACY, PRIMARILY LOBBYING AND PUBLIC EDUCATION, TO BUILD AWARENESS AND SUPPORT, AND TO ENCOURAGE POLICY CHANGE RELATED TO THE ISSUES DESCRIBED ABOVE. IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE EFFORTS, THE ORGANIZATION FACILITIES ENGAGEMENT WITH GOVERNMENTAL DECISION MAKERS, COMMUNITY LEADERS, AND THE PUBLIC AT LARGE.
