Nepal Midwifery Corps Improving the health of Nepali mothers and babies one midwife at a time. The Nepal Midwifery Corps provides scholarships to Nepali midwifery students in exchange for 2 years of service in a rural posting as a nursemidwife after graduation. The government of Nepal in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund and World Health Organization has recently professionalized midwives through a Bachelors of Midwifery degree and plans to utilize their expertise to improve the health of mothers and babies throughout the country. Nepal needs midwives now more than ever.
