Dance is about movement, but too often, we find ourselves trapped within opposing structures, like ability vs. disability, professional vs. amateur, written vs. improvisation, mature vs. youth, ground vs. air. Satellite Dance is a performing arts company that focuses on the exploration of contemporary dance from the ground and air. (In other words, we’re really into aerial dance!) We’re also so much more. We’re founded and powered by women. We’re proud to promote inclusivity in a completely, unapologetically bold way, which only silks hanging from a ceiling can provide. We also believe in the healing power of movement. If you take a look inside our company, you’ll see how movement has already brought our growing community together.
