How do you translate rebirth into blooms? 🌊 👉 💐 For this year’s Bouquets to Art, floral artist Ai-Khanh Nguyen of Bloomies Studio will take on the challenge of crafting a floral tribute to a beloved Legion of Honor artwork, British Romanticist John Martin’s thunderous seascape, "The Assuaging of the Waters," that captures the aftermath of the biblical flood. And, we know it's going to be a stunner! This is the final painting in Martin's Genesis trilogy. The scene places us on newly revealed land after the biblical flood. Noah’s ark is barely visible on the horizon, while the foreground is rich with symbolism. The raven standing over a serpent alludes to the triumph over sin, while the dove carrying an olive branch will fly off to the ark to show proof of dry land. Meanwhile, the spiral-shelled argonaut is an ode to his interest in science and engineering, reflecting a recent biological discovery.
