Wilsons Creek Clean-Up Fund
A US Forest Service sponsored nonprofit dedicated to protecting and preserving our western North Carolina National Wild & Scenic River, Mortimer, NC Support our local non-profit to help keep the beautiful water of Wilson Creek pure. Our mission is simple, leave the earth better than you found it. A Clean Wilson Creek is a small army of folks committed to protecting this National Wild and Scenic River in it's natural state for future generations. Wilson Creek begins as a small stream on the side of Grandfather Mountain, N.C. and forms into an incredible national treasure over the next 23 miles. We provide funding for daily River Patrols (365 days a year) that removes trash left by recreational users, and we also address abuse of this wilderness area from vandalism. We have a Core Team (Trout Team 6) and a number of associates and consultants who help us with stream protection, conservation education, and community, state and local government outreach. We also have corporate/small business funding partners and hopefully, we will have YOU on our side as well.

Wilsons Creek Clean-Up Fund
Six years ago, five retirees met in Mortimer, NC, to optimistically address the big challenges of cleaning up and better protecting the fifteen miles of Wilson Creek National Wild and Scenic River, from Edgemont to Adako. We inherited the effort from riverkeeper Bruce Gray, of Betsey’s Ole Country Store and Campground. Bruce had lovingly and painstakingly worked to keep the river clean since 2007, but the problems were growing and the task had become overwhelming in scope.
